Important Notice Re Gourock Health Centre
Gourock Medical Practice will be undergoing a mandatory upgrade to their IT systems later this month. This upgrade applies to all NHS GP practices across Scotland and is essential to support future service delivery. Unfortunately, during this period, their services will be significantly restricted:
Their repeat prescription telephone line will close from the end of the working day on Tuesday 9th June and re open on Monday 22nd June. If any patients run out of medication during this time, they can contact their usual pharmacy for an emergency supply.
From Thursday 11th June until Tuesday 23rd June, the practice will operate an emergencies-only service for both appointments and prescriptions.
They appreciate that this may cause inconvenience and would encourage patients to plan ahead wherever possible, particularly in relation to repeat medications.

more info on our successes
Former Queen's Hotel
The local eyesore that is the former Queen's Hotel has very much been on the community council's agenda for some time and in response to many community concerns, we have been active in raising the need for its development.
On 4th June, we were informed that planning and listed building consent has now been granted permission, subject to conditions.
We will post further information once received but in the interim, see the planning links below.

Shore Street Vacant Plot
A vacant Shore Street plot had been seriously neglected and required environmental action to support local business and wellbeing.
Success arrived in the shape of a new fence which has now been erected to shield the neglected area. It's not a perfect solution, perhaps, but it certainly has gone a long way to improve the look of the immediate area.

Kirn Drive One Way System
In early June 2025, we received confirmation that an experimental one-way system will now be implemented at Kirn Drive to help solve the traffic flow caused by a combination of a narrow road and residential parking.

Making Albert Road Safer
After successful campaigning, build outs have been installed, re-painting of Cloch Court lines have taken place and new surveys agreed!
